Happy New Years Eve!

In the spirit of making new resolutions and trying new things, I am going to try to maintain a better upkeep of this blog......I have been slacking off too much and I need to get back in my writing groove. Well, things are good in our home. Flubber is still flubber.....we gave him his own stocking full of new chew toys this Christmas. Tyler had an awesome Christmas and got lots of new shirts, jackets, and an electric shaver. I got my favorite movies - "Polly" and "Lilo and Stitch" and an antique trunk which I LOVE. His family got together on their way down to Vegas for the MAACO bowl - Broncos won again - finishing out the season strong. We were happy to spend the time with his family while they were in town. Then Mom came up for Christmas and we hung out a lot with my fam. We had a good Christmas, and I can't believe 2011 is up tomorrow night. We, of course, are choosing to spend it at home, away from the drunken people. (if there is any up here in Utah.) Tyler secured a new job at Lowes - and he starts on the 2nd of January. I am still looking. Anyways, I have several pictures of the Christmas season....... enjoy!

Happy New year! Let's make 2012 even better!

another month....another crazy adventure

Dear friends,

Ah, how the days have floated on by in the enjoyment of marital joy and ignorant bliss. Our Thanksgiving was lovely, bringing us closer in touch with my side of the family, as we joined the Glines family for Turkey day! All the food was delish and we enjoyed all the fun games the girls came up with.

A few days later we were happy to have my mom come into town, along with Cynthia and Lynn and Papa! Papa was in good spirits and enjoyed the Annual Tidwell Christmas get-together that always takes place this time of year. My mom, despite the invasion of nasty little scorpions at home in Las Vegas, is looking fabulous as usual, and we enjoyed her presence for the next week. We enjoyed watching our little Jacob Adair grow another year older and wiser...... and the blessing of him being baptised! 8 is a great year to be.

My mom, being awesome brought us our first Christmas tree, and decorations. I suppose a recording of a fireplace and two, sadly, very skinny stockings will have to do this year, since I still have no such luck in finding a job and money is tight. I think the most festive thing we have chosen to do is watch endless Christmas movies and cartoons, in hopes that these will be the foundation of a good Christmas.
Among many activities we have done in the past little while, here are a few highlights:

-We gave Flubber his first bath as a married couple.......my first time helping bathe a dog..... (He's a charismatic little doggie, isn't he? I could imagine a "but, I don't wanna go to bed now...." comment coming from him)
-We have been doing some babysitting for Tyler's brother Joe, who lives with his family of four close by.(Looks like I took a nap at some point, as my hubby snuck this pic of me)

-I seem to take any opportunity to try and get a decent picture of Tyler and me - but still end up cutting off his head some how (curses, you camera phone)
- We did take a trip to Bear Lake with Lynn and managed to drive a run down soft top Jeep back to North Salt Lake. The water line is much higher from the last time we visited summer 2011.
Tyler is up to his usual antics. He still makes me giggle to death with his jokes and warms my heart with his smile. He never fails to make me happy. Any chance he can, he goofs off until I'm rolling on the floor laughing so hard, I'm crying! I know even if all I get this year for Christmas is a hug from him, I will be happy. Money may help make things easier, but I am quickly learning that love and unity in times of struggle, make us stronger, and truly happy.

As for me, I have been applying for jobs and doing interviews like crazy......but with no hires yet. Kind of frustrating. Doesn't seem to matter if I drop off an application and resume or do online apps, nothing ever seems to follow through. I'm trying hard though. Making the best of each one. Here's a less than happy me after a job interview that literally lasted less than a minute....(Tyler timed it cuz he drove me there and waited for me)At least I tried to look professional and pretty.(Yes MOM, I do have lipstick on.....)

It's funny to think about, but one of the Glines girls raised the THIS to me...... maybe if I believed in Santa, I would get at least one thing I really wanted for Christmas. This I have been thinking about more and more as I crazily apply for jobs and every day I become more frustrated and crazy about not having a job and pitching in to support my new little family. So I only have one wish on my list this year..... I would like a job, any job, so the stress of hard times would not be weighing so heavily on my family.

I can't believe it is December again, as I just blinked and the year is gone. I've learned a lot this year...... and gained a lot too. It's been the best year, and a year to figure out, not only myself, but Tyler too. I can honestly say, 2011 - thanks.....my year has been fulfilling.

Wherever you are this year..... Happy Holidays - and stay safe!
